Sophie O'Neill is moving to technology and information provider MVB on September 01, 2025 and will take over the management of the UK site. In future, she will be responsible for the ordering systems Pubeasy, Pubdirect and Teleordering in the UK market and will lead the team in London. The experienced sales expert succeeds Elda Lamberti, who will be leaving the company at the end of June. Sophie O'Neill will be supported by Joanna Shaw, who will be promoted to Head of Sales and Operations on July 01, 2025 as part of the succession plan.

For more than a decade Sophie O'Neill has been managing the business of Inpress Books. The company specialises in the sales and distribution of books from independent publishers in the UK and Ireland. She was previously Head of Sales at Canongate Books and has held various sales positions at Headline Publishing Group, Hodder & Stoughton and Taylor & Francis.

Meike Knops, CEO of MVB: "We are delighted that we have been able to recruit such an experienced sales expert as Sophie O'Neill to manage our London office. Together with Joanna Shaw and the entire UK team, she will continue to develop our ordering systems based on local market requirements from September. I would like to thank Elda Lamberti for her clarity and strength, her knowledge and her humour. There could hardly have been anyone better to build our UK business. Not only has she brought her expertise to the company and the industry, she has also helped the team to become part of MVB. All the best for the new chapter in your life, dear Elda!"

Sophie O'Neill: "!As a sales person I have long been a fan of Pubeasy and the other MVB ordering systems. I am delighted to be starting at MVB as Managing Director for the UK and look forward to leading the business from September, building on the success achieved by Elda and my soon-to-be colleagues in the London office, and growing and developing the MVB partnerships and networks."

Elda Lamberti: "It’s been a privilege to lead MVB in the UK and to work alongside such a committed and talented team. I’m especially grateful to the UK publishers, booksellers, and industry bodies — including the Publishers Association and the Booksellers Association — whose trust and collaboration have been invaluable. I leave with great appreciation for the support I’ve received since joining in 2022, and with lasting respect for all those who contributed to our shared progress."
