Expedition Frankfurt: MVB Brings Latin America to FBM26

Major platform for publishing professionals and topics from Brazil, Mexico, and beyond at Frankfurter Buchmesse | technology and information provider organizes coaching and networking program and is official partner of the new "LATAM Stage"

Latin America was the first Guest of Honor at Frankfurter Buchmesse in 1976. To mark the 50th anniversary, technology and information provider MVB, Frankfurter Buchmesse, and industry expert Cássia Carrenho are organizing "Expedition Frankfurt". The program brings Brazilian publishers, as well as further experts from the regional book industry, to Frankfurt—the central hub of the international publishing community—and helps them prepare for the book fair and establish business contacts. The program includes pre-fair training sessions and briefings—for example, on international rights trading—and offers targeted content support during #fbm26, including guided tours of the fairgrounds. The central meeting point is a dedicated joint booth in Hall 3.1, F 120, where books from the participating publishers will also be showcased.

Ricardo Costa, Managing Director für Latin America at MVB: "Frankfurter Buchmesse is the most important gathering place for the international book industry. Here, different paths intersect, new business relationships are formed, and connections take on a global reach. Through ‘Expedition Frankfurt’ we connect Latin America with the global book ecosystem. In doing so, we benefit from our international business experience at MVB in metadata, catalog, and ordering services, as well as the strong relationships we have built in various markets as a result."

MVB’s Latin American team also contributed its expertise as an official partner to the planning of the program for the new "LATAM Stage" in Hall 3.1, F 70.

From Wednesday through Friday of the fair, an extensive expert forum featuring specialists from various countries will take place there, highlighting current developments ranging from the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital distribution channels to trends in the rights and licensing trade. In total, more than a dozen book markets will be featured in the expert talks. Over the weekend of the fair, the focus will be on voices and stories from Latin America. Authors and artists from the region will discuss topics ranging from literature to social issues.
