FAQ

What is the migration of UK Electronic Ordering Services?

The MVB Migration of UK Electronic Ordering Services is the general name for the replacement of a collection of electronic ordering services. The new services will be hosted on MVB's modern and efficient electronic ordering platform which is currently used to support the Pubeasy service in the US and UK as well as Pubnet in the US and Canada.

How can I minimize possible disruption to my business due to the migration?

While we are making every effort to avoid disruption to your business, this is a complex project and it is possible that not everything will go perfectly. Furthermore, some users (primarily suppliers) have been asked to participate in pre-migration testing and for a variety of reasons have been unable to do so. Therefore, it is advised that before migration you take the time to review the information on this site including FAQs specific to retailers (if you are a retailer) and suppliers (if you are a supplier). You should also play close attention to any migration related emails you may receive before, during and after the migration. If you experience problems at the time of the migration, please check the Migration Status and Updates section on this site before contacting our support team.

What will change?

The migration of the Nielsen Teleordering Services to MVB will mean some changes to the way you access Teleordering. The impact of these changes will depend on the Nielsen service you've been using. If you use your own software for your teleordering interface, the changes will be less significant than if you were using a Nielsen Web-based tool.

As a user of Online Order Collection Service, Book Data Online, or Publisher Services, you will now use Pubeasy as your user interface. There are How to user guides and FAQs that will explain how to use the new Teleordering. You can access all of these through the Teleordering migration page.

If you have queries that are not answered via the FAQs there is an online form that can be used to contact our support team.

I use Teleordering Services – how does this migration impact my service?

On 20 - 22 June, the Teleordering services from Nielsen will be migrated to MVB. As a result of this migration, Teleordering services will be integrated with Pubeasy.

If you have been actively using one of the Teleordering / Nielsen services during the last 2 years, you'll receive an MVB Teleordering mailbox automatically. You will receive an email with your login credentials between 21 - 22 June.

If you were using a web interface (like BDOL, OOCS, or Publisher Service) to place or process your orders, you will receive a Pubeasy mailbox. After the migration, although the web interface of Pubeasy may look different, you will still be able to place and manage your orders for the same products as before. The ex-BDOL users will be able to continue ordering Nielsen products in addition to the products from Pubeasy suppliers.

For more details about these changes, please visit the specific pages for the service or connection which applies for you (Publisher Service user, BDOL user, OOCS user, BNAPI user, FTP user).

I use Publisher Services – how does this migration impact my service?

As a (former) Publisher Services user, you will now have access to our new tool - Order Manager in Pubeasy - which will help you pick up and acknowledge new Orders, create Delivery Notes / Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) and create Invoices.

Your account will be set up automatically and will be activated shortly before our Go-Live on 21 June. You will receive your login credentials between 21- 22 June. Please note that you will not be able to access your new Pubeasy account before this date. We will be migrating your historical files and documents.

To find the Order Manager, simply go to "My Orders" in the header navigation bar of Pubeasy. As in the past we will email you when new orders are ready for collection.

I use Online Order Collection Services – how does this migration impact my service?

As a (former) Online Order Collection user, you will now have access to our new tool - Order Manager in Pubeasy - which will help you pick up and process new Orders.

Your account will be set up automatically and will be activated shortly before our Go Live on 21 June.

You will see that most of the key features you are familiar with are there. However, we do not yet support customizable CSV files. We are working on making this feature available in the 3rd quarter of 2023.

I use BookData Online to place orders – how does this migration impact my service?

As a (former) BookData Online (BDOL) user, you will now have access to Pubeasy, where you will be able to place orders.

Your account will be set up automatically and will be activated shortly before our Go Live on 21 June. You will receive your login credentials between 21- 22 June. Please note that you will not be able to access your new Pubeasy account before this date. We will be migrating your Order Status/Order history data.

You will find various options for placing your orders, and for more details please refer to the section 'How to use Pubeasy'.

As a former BDOL user, you will be able to order all products that are on BDOL. For titles that are not supplied by Pubeasy participating publishers, there is a new ordering option in Pubeasy for this, called Order File Upload.

I use BNAPI – how does this migration impact my service?

If you have used the Nielsen BookNet API (BNAPI) in the last 2 years, you will receive a new mailbox automatically. We will send you an email with your login credentials between 21 - 22 June. Additionally, you can get access to the tracking on Pubeasy that will allow you to track your order transactions. We will migrate your order history from Nielsen to MVB Teleordering.

The rebuild API for former BNAPI users is a service that runs system to system, and it offers a way to place orders. The order status enquiry can be done using a second API (Interchnage API). The order functionality (technically doOrderSend) has been rebuilt as a SOAP service (soap protocol). The Interchange API uses as well a SOAP service, but needs different credentials compared to the rebuild API. If you did not already receive the new login credentials according to your account set up, please contact the UK support.

I use FTP to place orders – how does this migration impact my service?

If you have used FTP within the Nielsen Teleordering service in the last 2 years, you will receive a new mailbox automatically. We will send you an email with your login credentials between 21 - 22 June.

Up to 16 June, you should continue to connect to ftp.teleord.co.uk (the Nielsen FTP site) and from 21 June you should connect to ftp-edi.pubnet.org (the MVB FTP site) for placing orders.

Your Nielsen username and password will remain the same, so you can continue to use it on MVB Teleordering. Please note that passwords on the new system are case-sensitive - if you have issues with errors about an incorrect password, please try to use the password in all lower case.

New uploads need to be placed in the root folder of the FTP site for processing. For added security and encryption during file transfers, you can also connect via SFTP to the FTP host with the same credentials.

I used to receive my orders via post (Book Order Despatch Service). How does this migration impact my service?

As a Supplier using the Nielsen Book Order Dispatch Service, you received your orders via post. This has been replaced, as part of the migration to MVB Teleordering, by an online service where you are notified of orders awaiting collection by email, and you then login to Pubeasy to see, print and process those orders. See the details above on Online Order Collection, for information about how this works.

How do I know how and where to login?

As a retailer you will be able to place your orders via Nielsen Teleordering up to 16 June. As a supplier you will be able to receive, acknowledge and respond to orders on Nielsen Teleordering up to 20 June.

For FTP users:
As part of the migration from Nielsen to MVB, the FTP host name changes from ftp.teleord.co.uk (Nielsen Teleordering) to ftp-edi.pubnet.org (MVB Teleordering).

For users of a Web Interface:
If you were using the Nielsen BookData Online portal for placing orders, or if you were using Online Order Collection Service or Publisher Services to collect and respond to orders, you will find your new services on our Pubeasy Platform which you can acess via www.pubeasy.com. Once we activate your new Pubeasy mailbox/login between 21 - 22 June, you will get a Welcome Letter with all relevant information.

For API users:
As part of the migration from Nielsen to MVB, the API endpoint for placing orders will change from http://bnapi.nielsenbooknet.com:8109/axis/services/WapiSoapService (Nielsen Teleordering) to https://soap.pubnet.org/services/legacy/bnapi (MVB Teleordering).

If you have queries that are not answered via the FAQs, there is an online form that can be used to contact our support team.

Can I keep my login credentials?

Where possible, your username and passwords will be migrated to the new MVB platform. However, depending on the Nielsen / Teleordering service you were using we will need to set up new mailbox names (account names) and new user Logins. In most cases you will get a new mailbox and Login credentials. This is particularly true for users of Online Order Collection Service, Publisher Service and BookData Online.

Please note that passwords on the new system are case-sensitive - if you have issues with errors about an incorrect password, please try the password in all lower case.

How can I place my orders?

There are a number of ways for retailers to place orders via MVB Teleordering/Pubeasy.

1.) Order via Search on Pubeasy Web UI
In Pubeasy you can place orders by running a search, selecting the items you would like to order and putting them into your shopping cart. Searches can be done by ISBN, Title, Author, and other criteria. You can also copy & paste a list of ISBNs to initiate a search. Finally, you can import order lines via CSV file (from the ISBN copy n paste page). When ordering from Pubeasy suppliers you need to have an account with that supplier that is linked to your Pubeasy mailbox/login.

2.) Order via File Upload on Pubeasy Web UI
This is a new Pubeasy function for the ex-Nielsen BDOL users that enables the user to upload a complete order file. The file types supported are Telelink III, CSV, XML and EDI files in Tradacom or EANcom format, and it requires a retailer SAN. In these cases, simply upload your order file for processing. This function does not require an account with the supplier. The order file will be validated (ie. is the ISBN valid) and when submitted, will be processed via the new MVB Teleorder Routing Service. This takes the ISBN, and uses Nielsen bibliographic data to establish who the supplier is and then routes the order file to that supplier (unless you have specified your preferred supplier by using a mnemonic in your order file, in which case it will send it to your preferred supplier).

3.) Order via EDI file / FTP or SFTP-Server
This automated ordering method sends your orders via FTP or SFTP, using the same file types as above on the Pubeasy Web UI: Telelink III, CSV, XML and EDI files in TRADACOM or EANcom formats. MVB Teleordering supports different FTP commands to assist with order tracking, status and history enquiries. If your order files are addressed to a specific supplier (using a mnemonic in your order file) we will deliver it to them, and if not, the MVB Teleorder Routing Service will automatically detect the correct supplier and foward your order to them.

4.) Order via API
This option is available if you use your own ordering software or software from a 3rd party provider (Point of Sale system). Using the API service will enable you to place and track your order transactions via our Interchange API.

Please note: the MVB Teleorder Routing Service is not available for US suppliers, at this time.
