#fbm26: This Was our Frankfurter Buchmesse

You can still hear the literary waves crashing, even though the exhibition halls have already emptied once more. The Guest of Honour, the Czech Republic, as "a country by the coast", has brought us many literary discoveries and broadened our horizons. It was a festival of reading that continues to resonate, peppered with encounters, joy and new paths.

Many thanks to everyone who once again made these five wonderful days in October something truly special: our guests, the Frankfurter Buchmesse Team, our stand-fitting crew and, of course, all our colleagues at MVB who champion our shared cause before, during and after the fair.

We had another varied programme this year:

• At our specialist exchange event, MVB-Austausch, we discussed current issues in our industry, ranging from metadata to searching and finding, right through to locum work. This open dialogue format is a real mixed bag, as its motto is ‘Everything is possible, nothing is compulsory.’ – from clarifying fundamental questions to offering individual advice, depending on how the discussion unfolds.
• In addition, this year we also held the MVB-Sprechstunde to provide immediate assistance with matters relating to Börsenblatt Plus, Büchergutschein, ISBN, ISNI and VLB/VLB-TIX, directly from our experts.
• We celebrated the Börsenblatt Young Excellence Award in style. At Zentrum Börsenverein, the #yeaward26 was handed to Monika Drummer. Congratulations once again!
• There was plenty to discover for the participants of the Frankfurt Expedition, who had travelled to Frankfurt from Brazil and gained insights into the international book industry from our Latin American team.
• There was also lots of discussion and networking on the LatAm Stage, which we curated in collaboration with Frankfurter Buchmesse.
