MVB is a subsidiary of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels – The German Publishers & Booksellers Association, which represents the book industry and lobbies the public and politicians on its behalf. Its members are publishing houses, book shops, intermediary book trade, second hand book shops and sales representatives. The association lobbies for better economic and politcal conditions regarding its members and campaigns for a greater appreciation of books.
